# Step 2 : Reserve a slot for the booking

1. Use the [Retrieve available slots for a service booking API](https://zenotiapi.readme.io/reference/retrieve-available-slots-for-a-service-booking) to retrieve the available slots for the booking.

  "body": "You can also [change the appointment time slot duration](https://help.zenoti.com/en/articles/4192600-how-do-i-change-the-appointment-book-time-slots) as per your requirement. For example, if the Appointment Time Slot is configured at 5 mins, you will see the time slots in the Appointment Book as 10:00, 10:05, 10:10, and so on. The difference between each time slot will be 5 mins. Similarly, if the setting is configured at 15 mins, you will see the times slots in the Appointment Book as 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, and so on."

2. Select a suitable slot and invoke the [Reserve a slot for a service booking API](https://zenotiapi.readme.io/reference/reserve-a-slot-for-a-service-booking) to reserve the slot.
